In math we are starting our measurement unit. We will be
learning about the different ways to measure using the Customary and Metric
systems. We are also still reviewing fractions. We had pretty low scores on our
test last week. I’ve noticed that students are having trouble finding equivalent
fractions with common denominators and having trouble simplifying their
answers. We will be reviewing this in class. In writing we are starting our
Biography Unit. Students will write a short biography of one of their
classmates this week. On Thursday, students will receive a list of questions to
take home. Right now, they are deciding whom they are going to write a
biography on. It needs to be a relative that they can talk to. The relative
MUST be older than them. When they get their list of questions, they need to
talk to the relative and either write down the answers to the questions
themselves, or have their relative write the answers to the questions. These question sheets are due on Tuesday March 12th
so we can start writing our paper then.
