4th Grade Feb 25-Mar 1st

In math we are finishing up our fractions and decimals unit. We will be learning how to add and subtract decimals. Then we will start reviewing for our test. Students will be taking their fraction on Wednesday then a pretest for our next unit on Thursday. In writing we are finishing up our Author Reports. Students will be given Monday and Tuesday to work on what ever they need to work on to finish up their reports. On Wednesday students will practice giving their oral presentations. Thursday and Friday we will be giving our oral presentations. Students absolutely MUST have their reports done by Friday. If students complete their reports, including reading a book by their author, before Thursday, then students will be expected to write a story pretending to be their author, or write a letter to their author with the extra time they have in class. If students do not have their report completed by Thursday, they must take it home and finish it at home before it is due on Friday March 1^st. I have been trying to give students as much time as possible in class to get their report done. If they have not used their time in class wisely, more than likely, they will need to finish their report at home to get it done in time. I have posted an example of the written report, poster, and oral presentation on my blog so you can see exactly what is expected of students and have an example to look at.
