5th Grade April 8-12th

This week in math we are learning about solid figures. We are learning how to identify their nets as well as how to view them from different angles. We will also learn about surface area and volume. We will then begin talking about Customary and Metric units of Capacity and Weight/Mass. In writing we are beginning our poetry unit. We will be learning poetry vocabulary as well as learning about different kinds of poems. We will read examples and students will write their own poems. At the end of this unit, students will make a book of their poems and poems they have collected. They will also memorize a poem to share with the class. This poetry unit will be due on Monday April 29^th.
