4th Grade Dec 10-19th

We are learning about graphs in class this week. Next week we will take a test on graphing. We are writing persuasive letters to Santa this week for writing. I want students to not just list what they want for Christmas but to give reasons why they should get what they want. On Wednesday we will be having an exciting presentation on rocks and minerals. We are still practicing our singing as well so we will be ready to perform for you next week!

5th Grade Dec 10-19th

Our class earned their party last week. Congratulations to them! Let’s keep up this good behavior! This week we will be finishing our Graphing and Probability Unit. Students will be taking a test on Wednesday and then we will be starting our Geometry Unit. Students also have a homework assignment to go along with finishing our Graphing Unit. They should have received a blue paper explaining their Math Survey assignment. Students are to come up with 3 survey questions and survey 50 people. Then they need to make a poster graphing and explaining their results. The complete details are on the paper I handed out to them. This week for writing we are writing a persuasive letter about whether or not backpacks should be allowed in the classroom.

4th Grade Dec 3-7th

We are taking our multiplication test this week! We will be doing some more practice and then we will take our math test on Tuesday. Students have learned many ways to solve double-digit multiplication problems. They are welcome to use whatever method they prefer on the test. In writing we are finishing our Persuasive Unit. Student’s papers on their favorite holiday are due on Friday Dec 7th. We are editing and revising these in class so hopefully they can finish them in class. We have also started practicing our Christmas Songs for the School Sing. We are singing “Holly Jolly Christmas” and “Jingle Bell Rock.” They are already sounding very good!

5th Grade Dec 3-7th

Our class has been behaving awesome lately! We are so close to earning a party. Please thank your student for helping us as a class behave better than we ever have! We are still learning about data, graphs, and surveys this week in math. We are also learning about probability and outcomes. Our test will be next week. In writing our essay for the week is whether or not girls and boys should be on the same sports teams. Students did not get much time to work on their graphic organizer this week in class so please make sure that get what ever they don’t get done in class done at home. Remind them also to finish their papers that should already be in My Access and to turn in their Graphic Organizers and Rough Drafts for them as well.
