We are working on Geometry in Math. We are
learning about perimeter and area this week as well as reviewing polygons,
angles, and lines. It is pretty hard for students because there are so many
little things for students to remember. We will be starting poetry this week.
We are going to write Halloween poems and discuss different types of poetry. We
will also be having a Halloween party in class on Wednesday. Students will not
have homework on Halloween so they can enjoy their night!

test. If students do not score an 85% or above on the test, they will be able
do a retest and get up to an 85% on their retest. They can get their retest on
Thursday if they wish to retake it. In writing we are starting our Persuasive

recognizable. Cascade’s Halloween Parade will be Wednesday morning throughout
the school. You are welcome to come and watch the parade in the cafeteria and
in the auditorium beginning at 9:45 AM.

We have just started Geometry in math. We are
having fun learning about shapes, lines, angles, motions, and congruent and
symmetrical figures. Our homework this week will continue to be division
worksheets. In writing we are finishing our Haunted House stories. They are due
on Friday, October 26th. Students will have time in class to work on
their story but if they do not get it done in class, they need to bring it home

This week in math we are working with factors
and divisibility. We are reviewing what prime and composite numbers are as well
as learning about prime factorization. We are also learning the Order of
Operations (going from left to right in the problem doing parenthesis,
multiplication or division, then addition or subtraction). We will also start
learning about ordered pairs and graphs. In writing we are reading our
Mysteries during class. Students who turned their assignments in on time,
Monday, will read their stories this week and listen to their classmates’
stories. Students who did not complete their assignment on time will be
finishing their story and other work while we do Author’s chair all week. Your
