5th Grade Sep 10-14

In Math we are finishing up our first chapter and we will be taking our first Math test on Wednesday September 11th. We have also been passing off our timed tests. Students are expected to pass off their 1-12 multiplication facts this year by correctly answering 100 problems in 5 minutes per test. If your student does not have their multiplication facts memorized yet, please work with them so they can pass them off in class. I have sheets I can send home if you would like to use them to practice with your student.

In Writing, students should have turned in their How To . . . paper last Tuesday. Now, we have started on our Autobiography unit. We will spend the rest of this week working on worksheets to help us pre-write for our paper. Next week we will start drafting, revising, and editing the paper. Their Autobiography is due on Monday September 24th. Students will be expected to turn in all the worksheets we used along with their paper on that day.

I have updated grades on Skyward according to everything students have turned in to me. Yesterday I sent home lists of missing assignments. If your student has missing assignments, please sign their missing assignments sheet and send it back to school with your student so I know that you are aware that they have missing assignments. It is the student’s responsibility to get their missing assignments turned in to me as soon as possible. I would like it if we could get all of the missing assignments turned in ASAP so your student does not fall behind and so the assignments do not start to pile up on them. This will make everyone’s life less stressful!
